How to make: Calming Lavender Playdough
A dear friend of mine gave me a great inspiration to share with you this recipe:
it’s fantastic to entertain the children and yourself!
Have fun, it’s super easy:
2 cups of All Purpose Flour
2 Tbs of vegetable Oil (any)
2 Tbs Cream of Tartar
1/2 Cup Salts
Lavender Essential Oil (5 to 10 drops)
Purple Food colouring (optional)
1 Cup boiling water
2 Tbs dried Lavender buds
In a bowl pour the boiling water over the salt to dissolve. Mix in the flour, oil, and cream of tartar. Use a wooden or silicon spoon to mix or put it onto a worktop and knead until smooth. You may need to add more flour or water depending on the consistency you prefer. Once you have the right texture, add the essential oil and knead it in. Make a small dip in the dough mixture, add the food dye and knead until you have the colour you want, then add the lavender buds.
This calming lavender playdough smells divine and is a great sensory play/activity for the children, or, as an easy to reach stress-reliever at any age!
This playdough will last up to 6 months in the fridge in an airtight container.
Is not meant to be ingested. Keep out of reach of pets.
